ci: run the installers on Linux, macOS, and Windows - #435
The installers in #434 are the new primary way to get DevSpace, but nothing exercises them: install.sh was only run on Linux by hand, and install.ps1 has only been parse-checked. This adds an Installers workflow that runs them the way a user's curl | sh or irm | iex would, on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Each job packs the current commit and points the installer at that tarball with DEVSPACE_PACKAGE_SPEC, so it installs exactly what the change ships rather than whatever is published on npm. The matrix has two Node situations per OS. existing uses a standard Node 22 from actions/setup-node, which the installer should reuse and pin. managed puts a node that always fails first on PATH, so the installer has to download and verify its own Node 24 LTS; shadowing is safer than stripping PATH entries, which could remove /usr/bin along with a system Node.
After installing, the job checks that the launcher pins the expected Node, doctor reports node:sqlite, devspace agents ls starts the agent daemon (which opens the database) without leaking the experimental warning, and the launcher directory was added to PATH for new shells or the Windows user PATH. On Unix it also reruns the installer to confirm updates work in place. The workflow runs on pull requests that touch the installers, launchers, packaging, or the startup paths they depend on, on pushes to main for the same, and on demand.
Added automated checks for the packaged installer on Ubuntu, macOS, and Windows, covering supported and problematic Node.js setups. The checks verify CLI installation, Node.js selection, SQLite status, agent listing, clean diagnostics output, and launcher PATH setup. On Unix systems, they also verify that rerunning the installer succeeds and that the CLI reports its version.
This change adds a GitHub Actions workflow that runs the platform-specific installer on Ubuntu, macOS, and Windows. It tests existing and installer-managed Node modes, then checks CLI commands, SQLite reporting, warning output, and launcher PATH setup.

Summary
Workflow triggers and matrix .github/workflows/install.yml
The workflow defines pull request, main push, and manual triggers, with an operating-system and Node-mode matrix.
Package preparation and installer execution .github/workflows/install.yml
The job packs the current commit, configures Node, and runs the shell or PowerShell installer. The managed-Node case adds failing node shims to PATH.
The workflow checks launcher paths, CLI commands, node:sqlite output, and ExperimentalWarning output. Unix jobs also rerun the installer and check the CLI version.
Waishnav/devspace#434: Adds the installers and CLI behavior that this workflow tests.
Merge Risk: Low · up to 97bc8
The workflow is mergeable with a bounded follow-up: strengthen the Windows launcher checks so they detect execution through PATH instead of the pinned Node. No current installer failure is established.

Explanation
The title "ci: run the installers on Linux, macOS, and Windows" matches the main change. The PR adds a GitHub Actions workflow that runs the shell and PowerShell installers on Ubuntu, macOS, and Windows. The title is concise, specific, and follows a conventional commit prefix. It does not mention the Node matrix or post-install checks, which is acceptable because the title does not need to cover every detail.

Each job packs this commit and runs install.sh or install.ps1 against
the tarball through DEVSPACE_PACKAGE_SPEC, once reusing a compatible
Node on PATH and once with a broken node shadowing it so the installer
must download its own. It then checks the launcher pins the expected
Node, doctor reports node:sqlite, the agent daemon starts without the
experimental warning, PATH was updated for new shells, and (on Unix)
that rerunning updates in place.

Ubuntu runners ship ~/.local/bin on PATH, so the installer correctly
leaves shell profiles alone there; only require the profile edit when
the directory was missing.

Run installer validation for main pushes that change CLI or SQLite source.
The push filter for main omits src/db/**, src/cli.ts, and src/local-agent-client.ts, which the pull_request filter includes. A push to main that changes only these files starts ci.yml but not this workflow, so the installed CLI and node:sqlite checks do not run for that commit. The pull request run validates the head commit before merge, so the gap applies only to pushes that bypass that run or differ from it. Adding the three paths to the push filter makes the two triggers match.

Update the main-branch push path filter in the workflow so it includes the same
CLI and SQLite source paths as the pull-request filter: src/db/**, src/cli.ts,
and src/local-agent-client.ts. Leave the existing path entries unchanged.
Pin the system Node in the Windows existing job too.
The Windows pin check runs only when matrix.node is managed. The existing job runs devspace --version, doctor, and agents ls with Node on PATH, so a launcher that calls node from PATH would pass that job. The Unix job already checks the pinned Node path in both modes. Add the same check for the Windows existing case.

Key concurrency on the PR number so same-named fork branches cannot
cancel each other, run the installer jobs on main pushes that touch the
CLI or SQLite layer, and verify the Windows launcher pins the Node on
PATH in the existing-Node job.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Match the pinned Node on the launcher's execution line.
The Windows checks use Select-String -SimpleMatch on the whole devspace.cmd. The generated launcher writes the same Node path in three places: the if not exist test, the execution line "<node>" "<entry>" %*, and the echo ... is missing line. A launcher whose execution line runs node from PATH would still pass, because the other two lines contain the pinned path. The managed-branch check has the same weakness.
The launcher writes profile paths as %LOCALAPPDATA%-style variables through ConvertTo-CmdPath, so the raw process.execPath value does not always match the text in the file. Read the first quoted token of the execution line, expand its environment variables, and compare the result with the expected path.

Review comment at @.github/workflows/install.yml at line 145:
Update both Windows launcher checks in the managed and PATH Node branches to
inspect the execution line, extract its first quoted path, expand environment
variables, and compare the resolved path with the expected Node executable.
Avoid matching the whole launcher file, since other lines can contain the pinned
path without using it to execute Node.
