feat(agents): list the models each provider offers - #441
Every harness names its models differently. Cursor's IDs carry settings (composer-2.5[fast=true]), Pi wants provider/id, OpenCode uses provider/model, and Codex and Claude have their own aliases. A harness or a person writing --model, a profile, or a workflow had to guess, and a wrong guess only surfaced after a paid run failed. That is exactly how the 1.1.0-beta.6 QA run lost its first Cursor call: composer-2.5 was rejected even though Cursor offers composer-2.5[fast=true].
devspace agents models [provider] asks each enabled provider, or the named one (enabled or not), which models it offers in the current workspace. It goes through each harness's own interface rather than a hard-coded list: Codex's app-server model/list (paged, like T3 Code does), the Claude Agent SDK's supportedModels(), opencode models (which prints the same IDs on both OpenCode protocol generations), Pi's get_available_models RPC, and a read-only ACP session/new for Cursor, Copilot, and Grok. Every id is exactly what --model and profile model accept, with efforts and default when the harness reports them.
Drivers gain an optional listModels(workspaceRoot), and the command runs in the CLI process: it builds drivers from config the same way runs do (so per-provider command and env overlays apply), starts each harness only long enough to ask, sends no prompt, and always closes it. Providers run concurrently, and one that can't answer prints its error and cause instead of failing the list. The adapters are imported lazily so other CLI commands don't pay for loading every provider SDK.
Verified against the real harnesses on Linux: Codex 9 models with efforts and the default, Claude 5, OpenCode 129, Cursor 47 (including composer-2.5[fast=true]), Grok 103 with per-model efforts, and Pi's known extension conflict reported as an error with its cause while the rest still listed. No harness process was left running afterwards. Mapper tests pin each provider's response shape, including Cursor's grouped options and Codex paging with hidden models. The CLI reference, the providers page, and the subagents skill now point at the command so harnesses stop guessing model names.
Added devspace agents models to list models offered by enabled providers, or by a specified provider whether enabled or not. Results include model IDs and, when available, display names, supported efforts, and the default model. Provider errors are shown when model information can’t be retrieved.
Documentation
Documented how to list models and how model IDs and provider errors are reported.
Harnesses name models differently (Cursor's composer-2.5[fast=true],
Pi's provider/id, OpenCode's provider/model), so --model and profile
values had to be guessed and only failed after a paid run.
devspace agents models [provider] asks each enabled provider, or the
named one, through the harness's own interface: Codex model/list, the
Claude Agent SDK's supportedModels(), opencode models, Pi's
get_available_models RPC, and an ACP session/new for Cursor, Copilot,
and Grok. Each id is exactly what --model accepts, with efforts and the
default when reported. It runs in the CLI process, starts each harness
only long enough to ask, sends no prompt, and prints a provider's error
with its cause instead of failing the whole list.

supportedModels() is awaited without an adapter-level timeout; a stalled SDK request may prevent query.close and hold up all concurrently selected providers.
agents models hangs and does not print other providers' completed results.
This can occur when: Claude starts but its model-discovery request never settles, for example while its transport waits on an unresponsive child.

Add an adapter-level timeout around the supportedModels() request in
claudeModelsFromSdk’s query flow so a stalled SDK call settles and does not

Test the Codex model/list paging loop through CodexAppServerRuntime.listModels.
The test named codex models come from every model/list page passes two literal pages to codexModelsFromPages. It never calls the runtime's request loop. A runtime that requested only the first page would still pass this test.
The runtime creates its RPC client from a spawned child process, and the constructor provides no injection point for a fake client. Use the existing command option instead, as src/local-agent-codex.test.ts already does when it constructs the runtime. Point command at a fake app-server that answers two model/list requests. The first response returns nextCursor: "page-2", and the second returns one more model. Assert that the second request carries cursor: "page-2" and that the returned models include the second model.

Assert Grok model efforts in the reasoning-effort test.
The test title says Grok models carry their own reasoning efforts, but the assertions never read efforts. For grok-4.7, the fixture's _meta.reasoningEfforts entries ({ id: "high" }, { id: "low" }) map to ["high", "low"]. A mapper that drops efforts still passes every assertion in this test. Checking efforts closes that gap.
