My passion lies in breaking down complex AI/ML and software engineering concepts in a way that makes people smile and believe they can do it too.
I'm the creator of MovieGroovy, an AI powered movies and series recommender that understands what you feel like watching, because choosing a movie should not take longer than watching one.
I work on production AI systems, LLM applications, recommendation engines, embeddings, vector search, evaluation pipelines and the less glamorous (but very important) parts that keep everything reliable.
MovieGroovy is where many of these things come together:
- Python, React, MongoDB and Qdrant
- LLM-generated recommendation explanations
- Embeddings, vector search and probabilistic reranking
- Multi-country streaming availability
- Asynchronous data pipelines
- Evaluation workflows and user-feedback loops
- Responsible-AI guardrails and transparent recommendations
I recently migrated its embedding infrastructure away from a deprecated proprietary model, tested retrieval compatibility across more than 10,000 titles and reduced the complete re-embedding workflow from approximately five hours to 30 minutes. Naturally, I turned the experience into a PyCon poster.
