Calendar failures looked like an empty calendar: helper errors, missing permission and timeouts came back as "no events", sync reported success, and the UI ignored the results of import and sync anyway.

  • Errors: import, sync and restore say what went wrong: no access to calendars, a calendar that can't be read, or one that no longer exists. A failed import doesn't connect the calendar.
  • Cache: a failed sync keeps the events Tuttle had and says so; a cache that couldn't be written is reported too.
  • Empty: a calendar without events is still a success.

Calendar failures came back as an empty list of events: a helper error,
missing permission, a calendar that no longer exists. Imports and syncs
then reported success, a failed import still connected the calendar,
and the UI ignored the results, so a broken connection looked like an
empty calendar. An unreadable .ics file raised a raw exception, and a
cache that could not be written was only logged.

Each now fails with a message saying what to do, shown in the import
dialog, in the status bar after a sync, or in the startup notice. A
failed sync keeps the events Tuttle had and says so; a failed import
connects nothing. An empty calendar still imports nothing, without an
error.
