Every contract got 19% VAT unless changed, whatever the country, and clearing the field saved 0% under the Standard category.

  • Model: no default VAT rate; saving without one says "VAT rate is required."
  • Form: presets the operating country's standard rate when it has a tax model, else starts empty. A Standard contract can't be saved without a rate. The document-import review presets the same way.
  • Payment term: the model's 31-day default is gone too. It overwrote a cleared term on save, so "no term" couldn't be stored. The form still presets 31 days for new contracts.

Contracts defaulted to Germany's 19% VAT rate wherever the user works,
the contract form and the import review preset it too, and clearing
the form's VAT field saved 0%. The rate now has no default, so every
write path states it. The form presets the operating country's
standard rate where Tuttle has a tax model and starts empty otherwise;
a standard-rated contract cannot be saved without a rate. Contracts
imported in the Contracts view get a VAT field to fill in.
