Summary

The assistant previously used a second row of five destinations, a crowded composer and an always-editable artifact form. The new task-centered shell keeps Chat, Artifacts and Conversations in one compact header, places Sources beside composition and Models below it, and preserves the displayed conversation and draft when returning.

• Refine the composer, answer reading surface, streamed actions, Stop/queue behavior and error recovery. Narrow touch panes retain readable voice language and stable 44px controls.
• Carry only explicitly provider-returned public reasoning as a bounded transient sideband. Native r-reasoning respects the reader’s disclosure choice; reasoning stays out of answer copy, saved history/artifacts, document review and subsequent requests. Provider thinking defaults remain unchanged.
• Open artifacts in Preview, with explicit Edit, accurate unsaved feedback, version saving, nearby deletion confirmation, export and native document review. Multiline AI comparisons separate Original/Proposed text; accepting updates a draft and saving remains explicit.
• Consume the matching upstream reasoning-header correction through a documented pnpm patch. The upstream component and streamlined agent-guidance work is ran#436.

The complete local report contains 108 screenshots / 27 states / four environments: desktop/touch, English/Portuguese, light/dark and normal/reduced motion. Actual recordings cover waiting, reasoning, streaming, Stop/error, reading position, artifact edit/preview/version/export/deletion, AI suggestion/accept/save and native document-review recovery. Independent visual review inspected originals and decoded frames before this update was pushed.

Native pointer clicks 60ms apart demonstrate interrupted reversal before the normal disclosure reaches its closed height; reduced motion snaps. Acceptance of an AI suggestion remains an unsaved draft, followed by a separate version save.

Verification

• Final runtime: 6,878 unit tests / 255 files passed.
• Assistant browser coverage: 125 executed cases verified across full and affected runs; three existing conditional skips. Final affected run: 37/37 passed, including unchanged XLS/PPT overflow assertions.
• Final comparison/related unit subset: 77 passed. TypeScript, archive-aware lint, Prettier, immutable evaluation-archive checks and production build passed.
• Docker configuration validated with installed standalone docker-compose; no local Docker-image execution is claimed.
• Upstream reasoning: 34 unit + 76 SSR + 10 Chromium/WebKit cases passed.
• Independent spec, code and screenshot/recording reviews passed.

Accepted runtime: d6c0411372e168a5a1c124c82408b7499e7e3cc2; the final evidence commit only adds documentation/media. All 19 reported remote checks passed for pushed head 8899fe7a1f203a631beb36dafb019abb6643e02e, including browser/Docker/Pages matrices, deployed-preview smoke, lint and timing budgets. An additional three-case reasoning/touch check passed against the deployed preview.

Limits

Deterministic public NDJSON proves UI behavior and reasoning isolation, not real-model answer quality or exact competitor parity. Native Word insertion still rejects Markdown tables with localized plain-text recovery guidance; the recording recovers into a real native review. Artifact-related failure context could be clearer in Chat (nonblocking P3). No model defaults/storage format change, package publication or merge is included.
