Summary

Beacon audit of v1.122.0 (AUDIT-2026-11-05), KIT-72 / QUAL-FORM-THEME-CHOICE-PARAMS, request 2026-11-05-formkit-theme-translation-params.

New @NowoFormKitBundle/form/choice_blocks.html.twig, a block library to use in a host theme (it is not registered in twig.form_themes, so existing themes are unchanged):

{% extends 'bootstrap_5_layout.html.twig' %}
{% use '@NowoFormKitBundle/form/choice_blocks.html.twig' %}
  • checkbox_row / radio_row: the input followed by a <label> translated with label_translation_parameters.
  • choice_widget_expanded: one input + <label> per choice, translated with the choice's choice_translation_domain and choice_translation_parameters (which Symfony passes to each child).
  • translation_domain: false / choice_translation_domain: false print the label as is; label: false, empty labels (label_format, humanized name) and label_html behave like Symfony's form_label.
  • Helper blocks nowo_form_label_text and nowo_form_check; hook classes nowo-form-check, __input, __label.
  • Docs: USAGE (new section + overriding table), CHANGELOG [Unreleased] (Added), UPGRADING.

Tests

ChoiceBlocksTranslationParametersTest renders real forms through the Twig form bridge (strict variables, IdentityTranslator substituting parameters) with a host theme that uses the blocks: a %param% checkbox label, a radio label, translation_domain: false, label false/empty/label_format/label_html/escaping, expanded multiple choices with per-choice choice_translation_parameters (callable), and choice_translation_domain: false.
make cs-fix phpstan test in Docker: 518 tests OK, PHPStan clean.

Version

Proposed 2.18.0 (minor, new template API). Not security-relevant (escaping covered by a test).

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added reusable choice-row templates for checkbox, radio, and expanded-choice fields.
    • Choice labels support translation parameters, disabled translation domains, HTML labels, and Symfony-compatible fallback formatting.
    • Host themes can use the templates and customize markup with framework attributes. Bootstrap layouts retain their supported styling.
  • Documentation
    • Added usage guidance and upgrade notes, including confirmation that adopting the templates does not require a breaking change.

New @NowoFormKitBundle/form/choice_blocks.html.twig to `use` in a host theme:
checkbox_row, radio_row and choice_widget_expanded translate labels with
label_translation_parameters and each expanded choice with its
choice_translation_domain / choice_translation_parameters, honour
translation_domain: false, label: false, empty labels and label_html.
Not registered in twig.form_themes: existing themes are unchanged.

Beacon audit of v1.122.0 (AUDIT-2026-11-05, QUAL-FORM-THEME-CHOICE-PARAMS).

Explanation

The title "feat(theme): choice rows with translation parameters (KIT-72)" matches the main change. The PR adds the opt-in Twig block library choice_blocks.html.twig, which renders checkbox, radio, and expanded-choice labels with translation parameters. The title names the feature, the scope (theme), and a ticket reference. It is concise, specific, and follows a conventional commit style. It does not cover every detail, such as Bootstrap classes or escaping, which is acceptable.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 0.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 2 functions across 1 files. (4 skipped: 4 unsupported.)

Preserve input links to help and errors.

When a checkbox or radio row has help or validation errors, this row prints the messages but does not add their IDs to the input’s aria-describedby. It also omits aria-invalid for errors. Symfony’s base form_row adds these attributes before rendering the widget. Pass equivalent attributes into nowo_form_check so assistive technology can associate the messages with the input. choice_blocks.html.twig rendered the input with form_widget(), and the
Bootstrap 5 checkbox_widget / radio_widget print their own <label>, so
each choice got two labels on bootstrap_5_layout. The input is now the
bare <input> of nowo_form_check_input (form_div_layout markup, the base
theme's widget_attributes), with exactly one <label for> per input.

On Bootstrap themes the blocks add form-check / form-check-input /
form-check-label (inline and switch from label_attr, nothing with
btn-check), pass the parent's valid flag to each choice, keep mb-3 and,
on bootstrap_5_horizontal_layout, the col-sm-2 / col-sm-10 offset.

Tests render rows and expanded choices on form_div_layout,
bootstrap_5_layout and bootstrap_5_horizontal_layout and assert one
label per input, the translated parameterised text and escaping.
USAGE documents the supported layouts and that label_html: true prints
translation parameters raw (audit FB-I1, FB-I2).

Preserve the required label class.

When a checkbox or radio is required, Symfony’s base label blocks add required to the label class. _label_attr adds the new hook class but not required. Themes that use that class to identify mandatory choices lose the indicator. Add required when required is true. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

As per coding guidelines, “Prefer: preserving backward compatibility unless explicitly requested otherwise” and “Prefer: reusing existing classes, ids, and hooks.”

Mark expanded-choice children as rendered.

This block prints each child’s input without calling form_widget(child). Symfony therefore leaves each child’s FormView unrendered. If a host calls form_rest(view.field) after rendering the expanded choice, Symfony renders those children again and produces duplicate input IDs. Mark each child as rendered after printing its input, and cover that sequence in a test. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
