Summary

Contributor guidance describes CI as Linux-only and native helpers as uncovered, while the CI inventory still describes browser-mode Vitest. The current workflow runs Vitest on Linux, native compositor jobs on three platforms, and Swift tests and release builds on macOS.

Align those statements and the job inventory with .github/workflows/ci.yml, including test typechecking, documentation validation and the configured branch filters. Keep the distinction between compile/unit coverage and the manual recording, permissions and device checks contributors still need to perform.

Type of change

Release impact

  • No release note needed

Desktop impact

  • Not platform-specific

Not applicable; documentation only.

Testing

  • npm run docs:check — passed (37 files).
  • git diff --check — passed.
  • Compared documented triggers, runners and commands with every job in .github/workflows/ci.yml; checked that Windows uses cargo check and the Vitest job has no browser-mode step.
  • No CI configuration or runtime code changed. Native tests and real-device capture checks were not run locally.

Prepared with AI assistance; verification above describes the checks actually performed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated CI documentation to cover configurable branch triggers, including integration branches.
    • Documented separate application, documentation, compositor, Swift, and native helper validation jobs across supported platforms.
    • Clarified that Vitest runs only on Linux and that platform-specific native tests have distinct coverage.
    • Added guidance that capture permissions and device scenarios require platform-specific manual smoke testing.
    • Updated testing guidance to reflect these CI limitations.

Align contributor guidance and the job inventory with the current workflow while preserving the real-device smoke-test requirement.

Tested: npm run docs:check; git diff --check; compared job inventory with ci.yml
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
