Summary

  • Resized social-preview.png from 1642×838 to the standard 1200×630 (1.91:1 OG ratio)
  • Converted from RGBA to RGB by compositing the alpha channel onto a white background
  • File size unchanged (~132KB), well within crawler limits

Why

Teams silently fails to unfurl OG images that are RGBA or whose actual dimensions don't match the declared og:image:width/og:image:height meta tags. Signal is more permissive, which is why the image worked there but not in Teams.

The og:image:width and og:image:height meta tags already declare 1200/630, so no config changes are needed.

Test plan

  • Share a link in Teams and verify the preview image renders
  • Verify Signal preview still works

Teams (and most OG crawlers) require the image to match declared
dimensions and reject RGBA PNGs. The previous image was 1642x838 RGBA,
which caused silent unfurl failures in Teams while Signal still worked.

Converted to 1200x630 RGB (standard OG image size, 1.91:1 ratio) with
alpha channel composited onto white background.
