Cachet can also email dashboard users when an incident has seen no activity for a configurable number of hours.
This feature is off by default; configure it on the "Manage Notifications" page.

## Slack subscriptions

Subscribe a Slack channel to public incident events using Cachet's Slack RSS feed. Slack manages this subscription;
it does not create a Cachet email subscriber.

Append `/slack.rss` to the public status page URL:

```text
https://status.example.com/slack.rss
```

Include `CACHET_PATH` when Cachet is served from a path, for example `https://example.com/status/slack.rss`.

In the channel you want to receive updates to, run:

```text
/feed subscribe https://status.example.com/slack.rss
```

Each incident report and update is a separate feed item containing its status, message, affected components, and a
link to the event. The feed only includes published incidents with **Guests** visibility. It excludes
authenticated-only, hidden, and future incidents.

<Note>
`/rss` groups an incident and its update history into one item. `/slack.rss` publishes each report and update as
a separate item.
</Note>

Slack records the newest item when a feed is added and does not post older items. Cachet caches the feed for up to 60
seconds, and Slack polls it on its own schedule. Use `/feed list` to view a channel's subscriptions and
`/feed remove ID` to remove one.

See [Slack's RSS documentation](https://slack.com/help/articles/218688467-Add-RSS-feeds-to-Slack) for feed management
commands and troubleshooting.
