Emile's answers of 2026-09-23 settled terms that the lectures reviewed before then do not yet follow. As #82 records under "What stays the same", the reviewed lectures keep Emile's text and are only brought in line with those answers. This task does that in one small pull request for Emile to approve, as After your review describes for an answer that changes a merged lecture.
The changes (counted on main at f2799d3)
| Answer |
Where it applies in the five reviewed lectures |
| built-in function → « fonction native » (#80, the ruling) |
functions.md: the heading « Fonctions intégrées » with its heading-map entry, six more lines of prose (one with the adjective in bold) and the code comment # max() est une fonction Python intégrée. oop_intro.md: one line |
| built-in namespace → « espace de nommage contenant les primitives » (#80) |
oop_intro.md: « l'espace de nommage intégré », one line. names.md writes « l'espace de nommage des primitives » three times: listed on the pull request for Emile to confirm or align |
| built-in type → « type natif » (#80) |
nothing to change: no « type intégré » remains |
| package → « paquet », Python package → « paquet Python » (#42, the ruling) |
python_by_example.md: the headings « Packages » and « Sous-packages » with their heading-map and index entries, and the prose under them. numpy.md: the heading « Sous-packages » with its heading-map entry, the prose under it, and « le package quantecon ». oop_intro.md: « un package très pratique » |
| lecture → « cours » (#42) |
the four « chapitre », two in numpy.md and two in python_by_example.md, each checked as the answer asks: « cours » where it means a QuantEcon lecture, « chapitre » where it means a chapter of a larger work |
« sous-package » becomes « sous-paquet » under the package answer, which did not name it: listed on the pull request for Emile to confirm. This and the names.md wording above are small confirmations tied to the lines the pull request changes, so they are asked there rather than on a separate follow-up issue.
Steps
- Make the changes on a branch, keeping the French typography (the non-breaking space before
: ; ! ?). Change each renamed heading in the file's translation: block as well: sync matches sections through that heading map, so a heading changed in the text alone breaks the next sync of the lecture.
- Open one pull request that lists each change by file and line, with the questions above marked, and that names this issue so that its merge closes it.
- Emile approves the pull request; Matt merges it.
Done when
- one pull request carries these changes, with every renamed heading changed in its file's heading map
- Emile has approved it and Matt has merged it, which closes this issue
