Summary

  • Upgrade from Google Ads API v25.1 to v26.1
  • Regenerate proto definitions, TypeScript clients and samples for v26; remove v25
  • Update google-gax to 6.16 (root and generated package) and gapic-tools to 2.2
  • README badge and the CommonJS and ESM smoke tests target v26
  • Package version 26.1.0-beta.0, for publishing under the beta dist-tag

Test plan

  • yarn test passes on Node 22.23 and 24
  • Generated protos match googleapis commit aa553d8 (Google Ads API v26.1)
  • The sed request-parameter check prints nothing
  • Publish 26.1.0-beta.0 under the beta dist-tag and consume it from google-ads-api
  • Update version to 26.1.0 after review
  • Publish 26.1.0 under the latest dist-tag

P1 Badge Regenerate the npm lockfile for google-gax 6.16

After this dependency is raised to ^6.16.0, the committed package-lock.json still declares ^6.3.0 at the root and resolves node_modules/google-gax to 6.3.0. Consequently, clean workflows using npm ci cannot reproduce/install the declared dependency set, blocking a fresh build or release from this lockfile; regenerate and commit the root npm lockfile alongside this change.

Fixed in 0a060ad: the root package-lock.json now declares and locks google-gax 6.16.0, and both root lockfiles move @grpc/grpc-js to 1.14.7.
