Description

The NethVoice Visual Plan needs a visual refresh to match the new NethVoice interface, along with usability improvements. At the same time, the set of supported modules should be expanded, the configurable options of existing modules extended, and support added for the new AI answering agent module.

Current features (to be preserved)

The Visual Plan lets users build a call flow graphically by selecting modules, dragging them onto the canvas and chaining them together:

  • Inbound route
  • Ring group
  • Queue
  • IVR
  • CQR
  • Announcement
  • Time condition
  • Call flow control
  • Extension
  • Voicemail
  • Conference

Every flow always starts from an inbound route, and the other modules are linked downstream as destinations.

All of these features must be preserved in the new version.

Goals

1. Integration into the NethVoice interface

  • Evaluate whether to keep the Visual Plan as a separate application (as it is today) or integrate it directly into the new NethVoice interface
  • Factors to consider: user experience (single navigation, no context switching), visual consistency, authentication and permission handling, impact on maintenance and development, reuse of components from the new UI

2. Visual redesign

  • Align style, color palette, typography, icons and components with the new NethVoice interface
  • Light/dark theme support consistent with the rest of the interface
  • Unify the look of nodes, connections and configuration panels

3. Usability improvements

  • When creating a new flow, place an inbound route node on the canvas by default, since it is always the starting point
  • Review canvas navigation (zoom, pan, centering, optional minimap)
  • Simplify node creation and linking (drag & drop, context menus)
  • Make node configuration panels clearer
  • Highlight errors and incomplete configurations (missing destinations, unconnected nodes)
  • Consider helper features such as node search, auto-layout and undo/redo

4. New modules to evaluate

  • Set CallerID (setcid)
  • Direct DID
  • Queue Exit
  • Queue Options
  • Queue Priorities

5. Extended configuration for existing modules

  • Inbound route: ringtone (Alert Info), CID name prefix
  • IVR: direct dial (to extensions)
  • Queue: ringing or music on hold, CID name prefix, join announcement, position announcement, break out IVR (exit menu)

6. New AI module

  • Add a node for the new AI answering agent module, usable as a destination in flows (inbound routes, IVRs, queues, etc.) with its configuration options

Acceptance criteria

  • A documented decision on keeping the Visual Plan separate or integrating it into the new interface
  • The Visual Plan UI is visually consistent with the new NethVoice UI
  • All current features (existing modules, drag & drop, chaining) remain available
  • An inbound route is placed by default when a new flow is created
  • New modules can be displayed, configured and linked in the flow
  • New options for existing modules are configurable from the Visual Plan and stay in sync with the standard configuration interface
  • The AI module is available as a Visual Plan node
  • No regressions on existing flows
