### NVHPC GPU link fails with "multiple definition" errors

**Cause:** NVHPC names each object's device-code symbol (in `.nvFatBinSegment`) after its full build path, truncated. In a deep directory the truncated names of different objects collide, and the link stops with `multiple definition of` errors naming such symbols.

**Fix:** Build from a checkout with a shorter path.

**Cause:** Required modules not loaded.
