Before: the duet read as the first message, and the /script/ page implied the grid script followed directly from the beacon's content, with no source and no time to have been built.
After: the archive, /signals/ and /script/ pages (CN and EN) say the duet is a handshake. It sets a shared clock and shows the signal is tuned for Earth, so Earth holds the most accurate record of the four content transmissions that follow. The grid script is a first draft in 2219, built up over back-and-forth exchanges (each round trip 21.96 years), and its lexicon grows with every exchange rather than every page.
How: wording only, in six HTML pages plus the README canon list. No scripts or styles changed, so no cache-version bump.
