Creating a case does not make an independent copy of the CESM source
code. The case continues to use the source code and scripts in
``my_cesm_sandbox``. Do not change the code checked out in this sandbox
(for example, by switching CESM or component versions) until you are
finished with all cases created from it. Use a separate checkout for
experiments that need a different version. Case-local changes to XML
settings, namelists, and ``SourceMods`` can still be made as needed.
