docs(desktop): document updating a Build and the tabs a Build install has - #2172
The Workspaces and Builds page explained how to install a Build and how to create one, but nothing about keeping a Build up to date, and nothing about how a Build install differs once it is on disk. Both are user-visible surfaces that had no documentation:
New ## Updating a Build section: the Manage panel's Update tab for a Build install, the Build Version card (headline version, Update available / Up to date, Installed / Latest Published / Last Checked rows), Check for updates, and Update to v with its confirmation. Also states that the update installs in place, is cancellable, keeps the previous environment until the new one lands, stages the new version's models in the background, and that a version without a build for the machine fails with that message rather than being hidden.
New ### Manage Panel Tabs on a Build: a Build install shows four of the six Manage panel tabs (Update, Startup Args, Terminal, About), with no Snapshots and no Storage, plus what Startup Args carries on a Build and the ComfyUI-Manager consequence of a Build published with a fixed model allowlist.
usage/manage.mdx: the "content varies by instance type" sentence now names Build installs and links to the new section.
Frontmatter descriptions updated on all five languages to include updating a Build.
Sources
Verified against Comfy-Org/Comfy-Desktoporigin/main (957a498b):
src/main/sources/comfybuilder/detailSections.ts: the Build install's Manage sections (status, update, settings, plus the pinned footer actions) and the header comment listing the tabs a Build deliberately does not get (Snapshots, Storage).
src/main/sources/comfybuilder/index.ts: handleActioncheck-update (re-reads published versions) and update-comfyui (updateBuildVersion, in-place reinstall, rollback, startModelStaging), managerAnswerFields.
src/main/comfybuilder/launch.ts: managerAllowedByPolicy (allowlist policy launches without ComfyUI-Manager).
src/main/devplatform/versionCache.ts: getAvailableUpdate / getCachedVersions (the version list is catalog-backed and in-memory).
src/main/sources/comfybuilder/builds.ts: versions are collected before the host check, so an unavailable target surfaces as comfybuilder.errorVersionUnavailable rather than being filtered out.
src/main/sources/common/launchSettingsFields.ts: buildLaunchSettingsFields (same controls as standalone).
src/renderer/src/components/settings/ComfyUISettingsContent.vue + src/renderer/src/lib/pickerTabs.ts: tab order and the fact that the Terminal tab is category-gated only, so it survives on a local Build install.
UI labels from locales/en.json (comfybuilder.*, actions.checkForUpdate) and locales/zh.json for the Chinese labels.
Translations
zh, ja, ko, and es ship in the same commit, including localized headings, descriptions, and link prefixes. structure-parity, check-anchors, and check-i18n-sync pass locally; translate:dry-run shows no pending block for either page.
Screenshots
None. The Build Update card only renders its interesting states (Update available, Update to v) after the app has read a workspace's Build catalog, which needs a signed-in Comfy account with a published Build; without it the card shows only the installed version and Check for updates, which would misrepresent the section. Recorded as blocked in the desktop shot ledger rather than shipping a figure that does not match the text.

Walkthrough
The documentation now covers workspace Build updates and the Manage panel options for Build installations in English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. It describes update status and behavior, retained workflows and staged models, and unavailable tabs and controls.
The pages describe version checks, update availability, in-place replacement, cancellation, hardware compatibility, retained workflows and staged models, and model download resumption.

⚠️Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Keep the tabs tidy: use the plural and split the sentence.
Line 10 names two tabs but uses singular tab. It also joins the final instruction with a comma. Use tabs and start a new sentence. The Build page lists Snapshots and Storage as separate tabs. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Proposed wording
- The Manage panel content varies by instance type. The screenshots on this page show a **local standalone installation**. Cloud and remote instances have fewer tabs and settings, and a ComfyUI Build installed from a workspace has no Snapshots or Storage tab, see [Workspaces and ComfyUI Builds](/installation/desktop/usage/workspaces-and-builds).+ The Manage panel content varies by instance type. - Line 14: In the Spanish description of the Manage panel, replace the English
tab names Snapshots and Storage with the localized labels Instantáneas and
Almacenamiento. Leave the rest of the sentence and link unchanged.

- Around line 70-72: Update the “Pestañas del panel Manage en un Build” heading
and its following sentence to consistently call the panel “Administrar,”
matching the existing Spanish terminology. Replace both occurrences of “panel
Manage” with “panel Administrar.”
