QBF is a two-player game by Mark Steere (November 2026, designed in collaboration with Claude). Red places the root, a stack of two red checkers, on any square of a 7x7, 9x9 (default), 11x11 or 13x13 board, and from then on every checker must go on an unoccupied square orthogonally adjacent to exactly one checker, so the checkers grow a tree. When no such square is left the checkers are claimed from the leaves inward: a checker belongs to its own colour if all of its children belong to its own colour, otherwise to the other colour. Whoever claims the root wins. The pie rule applies after the root is placed (`pie` flag). The owner of every checker is shown by a mark on the checker (a black ring holding a disc of the owner's colour), legal squares are marked in green, and the game ends as soon as the owner of the root can no longer change, as in the designer's own app. Board and checkers use the felt palette and marbled checkers of Yonkoma. Red places the root, a stack of two red checkers, on any square of a 7x7, 9x9 (default), 11x11 or 13x13 board, which is treated as a single, marked checker. When no such square is left, the checkers are claimed from the leaves inward: a checker belongs to its own color if all of its children belong to its own color, otherwise to the other color.
