<p>HTMLPurifier is a filter library built by Edward Z. Yang. It does a number of things. Specifically, HTMLPurifier can change the character set of web content, prevent XSS, and modify content for Document Type Definition (DTD) compliance-- and more. Simply, it takes a chunk of your web page if not all of it and makes it more web browser friendly, safer for your systems, safer for the visitor, or all of the above.</p>
