First public release of SurgiViz4D, our surgical simulation platform built on SofaUnity real-time biomechanics. This build is free to download and intended for evaluation and feedback.

Procedure scenarios

Scenario	Mode	Description
Multi-patient Hepatobiliary Inspection	VR	Explore patient-specific 3D models of the abdominal cavity and liver. Identify hepatic lobes and segments (Couinaud classification), hepatic veins and arteries. Focuses on spatial orientation and recognition of anatomical landmarks.
Landmark Inspection	VR	Manipulation and analysis of 3D liver models reconstructed from CT scans of patients with liver tumors. Place reusable landmarks that persist across procedures.
Ureteroscopy	Desktop	Endoscopic navigation through the urinary tract.
Colonoscopy ]	Desktop	Endoscopic navigation through [...].

Samples

A set of smaller interactive demos illustrating the underlying simulation engine: deformable tissue (FEM), collision handling, constraint solving.

Requirements

• OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
• VR headset: [Tested on Meta Q3]: required for VR scenarios only.
  Desktop scenarios run on a standard computer with mouse and keyboard.
• Disk: [1.5Go]: To include additional space for patient datasets downloaded on
  first run

Installation

1. Download installer from the assets below
2. Run SurgiViz4D_Public_Setup.exe
3. Your Windows Defender might block the execution. You will need to click run select Run anyway: click the More info link on the blue "Windows protected your PC" dialog, which reveals the Run anyway button.
4. On first launch, you will need to create a login. Follow the instructions.

Known limitations

• This is an early public build. Some scenarios are still being refined.
• To use the VR scenario, you need to activate the headset before launching the application
